The Blue Wahoos want all engaged and newlywed couples to know they are welcome to celebrate their big day at the ballpark. Following national fallout from comments made during a recent national telecast about ballpark bachelorette parties, the Blue Wahoos want fans to know that the team not only welcomes bachelor and bachelorette parties, but want couples to know they can even hold their ceremonies at Blue Wahoos Stadium.

“Blue Wahoos stadium is a wonderful venue for couples to get engaged, party with friends before they get married and even exchange vows if they so choose,” said Blue Wahoos president Jonathan Griffith.

“We have had many happy couples get married with unforgettable experiences at the stadium,” said Shannon Reeves, Blue Wahoos event sales manager. “It’s a beautiful setting that makes for a unique experience with breathtaking views. Plus, we can handle the reception with an award-winning chef and multiple areas to accommodate groups of just about any size.”

Several couples have had their ceremony and subsequent receptions held at the park since the stadium opened in 2012 including Chris and Valerie Doerfler, Blue Wahoos season ticket holders.

“Getting married at Blue Wahoos Stadium was a dream come true,” said Valerie Doerfler. “We met at the stadium, and he proposed at the stadium so getting married there was the perfect continuation of our journey together. It was so convenient to get married on the field and have the reception upstairs. Everyone commented on how much fun the wedding was and good the food was.”
